Academy for the Study of the Psychoanalytic Arts
An organization formed to advance the study of psychoanalytic epistemology, theory, practice, ethics, and education within a psychological framework consisting of philosophy, the arts, and the anthropic sciences as opposed to biology, medicine, and the natural sciences.
Michigan Association of Industrial-Organizational Psychologists
is a professional organization for I-O psychologists from Michigan and the surrounding area representing professionals from business, academia and consulting. Their purpose is to promote human welfare through the various applications of psychology to all types of organizations providing goods or services such as concerns, commercial enterprises and public agencies.
Michigan Psychological Association
An organization of psychologists working to advanced psychology as a science and a profession and to promote the public welfare by encouraging the highest professional standards, offering public education and providing public service. It is the Michigan affiliate of the American Psychological Association.
Michigan Psychoanalytic Council (MPC)
Offers advanced training and certification in psychoanalysis for professionals representing the fields of psychology, psychiatry and social work as well as other disciplines concerned with the meaning of being human. MPC also sponsors scientific meetings and programs, open to the public.
Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute (MPI)
A training institute in psychoanalysis for selected candidates, as part of the American Psychoanalytic Association. Offers classes and programs for the public.
Michigan Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology (MSPP)
An interdisciplinary society of individuals from diverse educational backgrounds who are interested in the ongoing study and advancement of psychoanalytic ways of thinking about people. Toward that end, workshops, conferences, discussion groups and other activities of interest to the professional and lay communities are organized and presented throughout the year.

State of Michigan, Department of Consumer & Industry Services (CIS)
is composed of the agencies and commissions that provide licensing and consumer protection services for an array of industries, professions, and occupations. Within the CIS, the Bureau of Health Services is directly involved with the regulation of the profession of psychology in Michigan, and was organized to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Michigan by ensuring that providers of health services meet required standards of practice before receiving and while renewing their license.
