Circulation Policies
Library Cards
Any registered student, faculty or staff member of LTU may borrow materials from the library. There are no limitations placed on the number of items that may be checked out. All registered borrowers may view their own "library record" from the Library Catalog. Guests and Alumni may also obtain a library card with proper identification. A total of three (3) items for guests and five (5) for alumni may be checked out at any time.

Renewals
LTU Books: may be renewed up to two times, as long as they have not been requested by another patron. Books from the New Books shelf may not be renewed. General collection books can be renewed by telephone, or in-person at the circulation desk or from “My Account” in the online catalog.
MelCat: books received from the MelCat service may be renewed one time, by contacting the LTU library either by phone or in person, or by emailing melcat@ltu.edu.
Interlibrary Loan: renewing Interlibrary loan items are subject to the approval of the lending institution. It is essential that the renewal request reaches the library before the book's due date, as some libraries will not renew an interloan after the due date.

Lost book fee price of book + processing fee
Students, faculty or staff members with fines in excess of $10.00 are delinquent and borrowing privileges are suspended until obligations are cleared. In addition, an academic hold will be placed on the student’s record.
My Account
Students, faculty and staff can view their library account from the online catalog to view books checked out, fines, and requests waiting. Enter the catalog from the home page, select the blue box on the upper right end of the catalog page, and click on “My Account”.
You will be asked for your Banner ID, which is your initials plus your Banner number.
You will be asked for your PIN number. It is "changeme" but can be changed to any letters or numbers on the next screen: just use the "CHANGE PIN" feature.
Always double-check the address and phone number, these can also be changed online in "My Account".
You can examine the status of books you have put on hold, or cancel them.
If you have any fines, they will be listed here also. Please contact the library if there are any questions about overdue books or fines.
If you are at a public terminal, remember to close the browser before quitting to keep the information private.
